The District Nursing Team comprises, trained District
Nurses, Staff Nurses and Auxiliary Nurses. They assess
and provide nursing care and promote health education
to patients in the community who are unable to attend
the surgery.
Health Visitors:
Dianne Jones, Marion Tierney and Debbie James
Health Visitors are registered general nurses who work
both in the surgery and in the community. They work
with parents and give advice on baby and child health
issues. They run well baby and immunisation clinics.

Midwives:
Cath Atkin & Carys Gillette
Community midwives provide care and advice during pregnancy
and after childbirth. They hold antenatal clinics at
both centres and provide visits at patients homes.
Dietician:
Caroline Bevan (Based at St Martins Clinic)
The dietician holds a clinic at City Walls medical centre
counseling a number of patients for therapeutic diets;
diabetes, high cholesterol, coeliac disease and patients
with unintentional weight loss. Patients may be followed
up in the practice if they receive dietary counseling
whilst in hospital. Referrals are made by the doctor.

McMillan Nurse:
Fiona McCrory
Mcmillan Nurses provide support & information for people
and their families/carers affected by cancer. From
the
time of diagnosis, during treatment and at any stage
during their illness. The Mcmillan Nurses are available
Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm and can be contacted
by telephoning 01244 364708.
Counselling
There are a dedicated team of counselling staff to help
patients whom the doctor feels may need some help for
those times of depression, relationship problems, or
anxiety and stress.
Practice Pharmacist:
The practice pharmacist provides medicines advice to
the practice. Part of her job is to review the medication
for patients who are taking a large amount of different
medicines in order to improve the way patients take
their medication. This can reduce side-effects and wastage.
Medication reviews are also a good opportunity for patients
to ask any questions about their medication.
