City
Walls Medical Centre is located in the heart of the
very attractive and historic Roman city of Chester.
It is a large purpose built medical centre which was
opened in June 1997. The current practice evolved through
a merger of Nicholas Street Surgery and George Street
Surgery. There is a branch Medical Centre in the village
of Saughall 5 miles from the City, which has been fully
modernised and has a full range of services.
There are 11 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs and 1 GP Registrar.
The present list size is 17500 patients which covers
a radius of 5 miles from inner city to rural areas.
City Walls has a pleasant waiting room area, with a
designated children’s play area. The doctors
consulting rooms are situated around the perimeters
of the main
waiting room. This facility allows the doctors to collect
their patients personally, which allows them to maintain
a personal and friendly approach.
Our philosophy in the practice is to care for patients
in a personal and friendly manner and to look after
the patients with empathy and sympathy at all levels.
The surgery offers a wide range of facilities and equipment
to a very high standard and is a “paperless practice”
using the full range of computerisation to assist clinical
decisions and recording of data.
Education and Training are important parts of our practice
life. The practice is an Undergraduate Teaching Practice.
We hold regular internal educational and training meetings
within the practice for all staff.
The practice area is large, covering the city of Chester
and rural areas within a five mile radius City Walls
